Probleme beim Ablesen der kolorimetrischen Urintests bei Diabetikern
Wir untersuchten die Zuverlässigkeit von 9 gängigen kolorimetrischen Urintests in
3 Diabetiker- und einer Kontrollgruppe. Die erste Gruppe umfaßt Diabetiker ohne okuläre
Komplikationen, die zweite Diabetiker mit nicht proliferativer Retinopathie und die
dritte Diabetiker mit proliferativer Retinopathie. Selbst Diabetiker ohne Komplikationen
begingen häufig Fehler in 3 der 9 Tests; das gleiche gilt in noch vermehrtem Maß für
die dritte Diabetikergruppe. Beim jetzigen Stand der Untersuchungen erscheint die
Farbindikatorauswahl in diesen 3 Tests zumindest fragwürdig im Hinblick auf das bei
Diabetikern häufig gestörte Farbsehen.
Summary
The reliability of nine widely used colorimetric tests for urine glucose was investigated
in three groups of diabetics as well as in non-diabetic, age-matched controls. The
first group of diabetics consisted of patients without ocular complications, the second
group had background retinopathy and the third proliferative retinopathy. Even diabetics
without retinopathy frequently made errors in three of the nine tests. At the present
stage of this investigation the choice of color references in these 3 tests appears
questionable, particularly in view of the fact that diabetics frequently have impaired
color vision.
